A culinary experience to savor, Winter Dine takes place over three weeks starting in mid January and ends first week of February. Area Restaurants will offer a 3-course meal, designed specifically for Winter Dine by some of Charlottetown’s
most talented and creative chefs.

Venture out on a frozen river, to a private oyster lease, cut a huge hole in the ice and dig out an Oyster catch.
You will be taught how to tong oysters, separate them, clean them, measure them and finally shuck them to eat.
There is usually a bonfire on the ice made for clients to keep warm and a fresh pot of steamed mussels made
to enjoy amongst the group… along with some Oystering story tales.

social gatherings or “Ceilidhs” (kitchen parties) were held at someone’s home.
Today’s Ceilidhs are typically performed in a rural townhall, parish or community center.
From fiddle to guitar to step dancing and hands clapping, the music reflects true islander soul.

Known as the “Kentucky of Canada” in many circles, visitors from around the world
visit PEI to experience the live events of harness racing. Races take place throughout the year at
Redshores tracks in both Summerside and Charlottetown.
Harness racing is a major part of our island heritage and to better experience it,
we recommend visiting in August during Old Home Week.
Expect nightly qualifying races, onsite amusement park and even a parade to ring
in this annual event. The week finishes with the popular Gold Cup & Saucer Race.

The PEI Lobster Supper is unlike any meal you have ever had. Getting its start in church basements, the current experience maintains the community feel, the homemade vibe, and the downhome hospitality.
We have the local know how to send you in the right direction for a “Proper Lobster Supper”.
The feast will include fresh boiled lobster from our backyard sea, seafood chowder, potato salad, coleslaw,

Like many tourists and novel lovers, getting the Anne of Green Gables Experience is a “must have” while visiting the island.

Prince Edward Island is home to a number of venues that feature live music, ranging from park stages to traditional Irish pubs to street side patios to microbreweries and waterfront bistros. Local artists can be found rotating through their circuits in many establishments and stages across Prince Edward Island.
Live touring performances can be found at The Mack or Confederation Centre, both venues are within a 25 minute drive from BlackBush. The most popular music event is in July, where thousands flock to the Cavendish Beach Music Festival, a three day lineup of international Country Music acts.

The Shellfish Festival is an annual event held in Charlottetown during the month of September and features celebrity chefs, oyster shucking competitions, live cooking symposiums and even beach side clam bakes.
Another great event is the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival, which takes place late July into August.
Tyne Valley features the best in class seafood experience, it has been an annual celebration here since 1964.
Both these seafood culinary experiences are widely attended by foodies from around the world. Rest assured, Blackbush Hotel is a short drive to both Festival venues and events.
