The Atlantic Veterinary College’s AVC Vet Camp at UPEI offers a behind-the-scenes view into the world of veterinary medicine. Attendees will have exposure from doing physical examinations on dogs and horses to learning how to dress like a surgeon. Activities include a balance of hands-on activities, lectures, labs, and class discussions.
AVC Vet Camp features one-week camps. The cohorts are for students entering grades 7-9, while the second camp is intended for students entering grades 10- 12.
The junior camps are scheduled to take place from the first 2 weeks in July and the senior camps in the last 2 weeks of July.

The Shellfish Festival is an annual event held in Charlottetown during the month of September and features celebrity chefs, oyster shucking competitions, live cooking symposiums and even beach side clam bakes.
Another great event is the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival, which takes place late July into August.
Tyne Valley features the best in class seafood experience, it has been an annual celebration here since 1964.
Both these seafood culinary experiences are widely attended by foodies from around the world. Rest assured, Blackbush Hotel is a short drive to both Festival venues and events.

These fish can put up a good fight once you hook one on.
